In addition to understanding fractions and equivalent ratios, 7th grade math students also need to learn how to perform operations with fractions. This includes adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. When adding and subtracting fractions, students need to find a common denominator, which is the least common multiple of the denominators. When multiplying fractions, students need to multiply the numerators and denominators separately. And when dividing fractions, students need to invert the second fraction and multiply. With practice and patience, students can master these operations and become proficient in working with fractions.
